StyleSEAL supported the Global Climate Strike on Friday, September 20th by providing StyleSEAL air masks for children to the Sang Foundation in Bangkok. The Sang Foundation participated in the Climate Strike and is committed to promoting environmental awareness and education, especially in regards to plastic misuse.
Climate Strikers are demanding that politicians and businesses take action to stop global warming, which scientists warn will lead to environmental catastrophe based on current trends. Demanding more action from governments is important, but we all need to do our part to help.
We can ALL do a better job to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Reducing is cutting back on the amount of trash we make and fuels that we burn, reusing is finding a new way to use trash, and recycling is using trash to make new goods that can be used again.
StyleSEAL is sympathetic to the challenges that governments face while trying to control waste and air pollution. New power plants and waste incinerators using APCT (Air Pollution Control Technology) are costly. Imposing stricter controls on businesses emissions are also expensive, and take time to implement. Businesses can choose to go elsewhere either raising costs, taxes or possible lost jobs so the task is complex.
We need to give credit where credit is due as well. In the past few years, Bangkok has added dozens of new BTS stops helping to reduce auto emissions. But there is still room for improvement. Reducing emissions from the many buses would be a good first start. We all need to work together along with the government to save and improve our environment. Start today by planning ways you can better Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
